  • Fashion, Self Image of women and Related Issues

In this men dominated world... women struggle with their self image more than any other issue in their lives. the definition of beauty defined by media, which of course is also men dominated has put women under alot of pressure...

    1. weight loss surgeries
    2. implants
    3. botox
    4. bulimia
    5. anorexia
    6. lack of self esteem

let's talk about these... what do you know about the society and a woman's struggle with self image...

Agreed. I blame this on magazines,Internet and so forth. Its the US media who tells ladies from all over the world how to dress, how your face should look and etc. A lot of those products have consequences.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

^ why don't you blame people for not knowing better? magazines and models are trying to do their own job. deception is part of their game... people should use their heads instead of some magazine cover.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

                ^ that's true.

BUT ONCE I picked up a random magazine (I just find magazines weird so I usu don't read them) andddddddddd Justin Timberlake said he likes girls with their own unique style ..not girls who always have to update to the latest "trend." (Okay he said something like that).

i dont believe in fashion and current trend at alll......
just wear what you love and something than u can carry well...
dont follow a trend..... make a trend that others would follow......

confidence plays a major role....and it comes only if u love everything about your self and stop complaining about how you look....
