  • Do your clothes have to match?

I don't think it is so recent. Think of Afghan clothes, or shalwaar kamees, they're pretty matching if you ask me, and they're not considered a new fashion trend. Though I don't wear them, the good thing about jeans is that you can macth any colour with it, black and white look superb. The way you dress is a very important part of one's life. What you wear, where you wear it, and how you wear it makes a big difference. You're making a statement about the person that you are with the type of clothes you wear. I am not suggesting we judge people by thier clothes, no. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I match everything I can. I like perfection and sophistication. I am not one for wearing six different colours. That slightly depends on my personality and colour traits too, a whole different topic of course.

I hate matching to the fullest. It really bugs me. My sister if she wears a green top, she has to have green accessories, a green bangle, etc. I really find it annoying....what i think looks good are adding accent colors and mixing around a bit. Like adding a brown in there, or pink, just not all green. Otherwise if you just only wear the same color all over, it really brings it down.

When i buy shalwar kameez, for example i have a pink one, the pants i bought with it is like a gold color, and it looks so good. Both colors bring each other out.

Mesbah, Here in the USA. Its a new trend, all guys must wear skinny jeans and look something similar to this.

Some take it extreme. To an extent that everything must match.

I find it hideous, wear what you like. If you like it, go for it. If you are wearing it cause so and so in your 8th grade class thought it was "hot" think again, please. (To whom it may apply) And obviously if your beloved Husband and wife likes it, I find it acceptable.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I don't consider it extreme for everything to match.

To me, it's only a matter of the color. Not all colors look good when they're matched. And jeans go with everything, so I've never heard of or seen anything trying to match jeans . . . . Me, I love matching outfits. If I wear a purple shirt, I prefer purple flip flops and a purple saazar. That's good enough for me, and I love it.

Well you don't wanna clash, so a little matching's nice, as long as it's not *too* much, so you're completely one colour.

Skinny legs on men ... ruins the whole definition of being men ...

From reading, I don't know how this thread defines matching. Who would wear a red shirt with red accessories, red skirt, red scarf, and red sandals? That is not matching, that is monopoly (=D) ... matching is colour coordinating two or three colours and wearing them right ...

matching is more of a 1990s thing. i used to work with a girl who would dress up in yellow fro head to toe. it was one of the worst experiences i ever lived through.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

yellow is a very overwhelming color. all day i had this yellow object in the corner of my left side move around. you have no idea how annoying that gets after the first 45 minutes. somethings you can't mismatch but too much of bright colors are never a good idea.

Absolutely depends on individual's taste. matching where i would say harmony of apparal has to be there to some extent but too much of it would be too vibrant and wont bring out any one beautiful area in your dress like your jewellery or your handbag or dupatta as everything blends in that one colour. There has to be some variety which can be in the form of contrast i say. But again too much of contrast is bad. Contrast in dress should never be 50% as both areas would compete for attention and the dress would be too conspicuous. Always one colour should be dominant and the other just to break the monotony of the dominant colour used. Like if your top has two colours, black and white, then they should not be used in equal proportion or the beauty of either of the colour will be lost. What do you all think?

^what you said is just what one who admires fashion would say.

I like abstract color. I like it when people wear colorful things.

green shirt. Blue jeans black hair orange sandals..
