Shehbaz, is this the same style as the one in your photo?

In Kandahar, I know they have a unique style, with no collar and a big embroidered patch around the collar, like this

This site says Libyan traditional clothing is like this?

Curious, are embroidered shalwar kameez usually only worn on special occasions?

I notice most people only wear plain style.

Also, why do so many countries use polyester etc to make them? I can't stand synthetic fabrics like that myself.

Yeah that's the Libyan one , but there's a better looking one where the pants (Sirwal) is of a different colour ( the material is like velvet sometimes) and a vest would be worn that matches the colour of the pants (Sirwal) , sometimes it's not a vest , something with long sleeves . A special shoes and hat that looks a little bit like a fez (red in the east, black in the west) would also be worn ( not everyone does though).
Thank you for your contribution , The first photo made the style clearer to me . The second one is really nice ma sha'a Allah .

^ The piece on the shoulder is a separate things We call it 'Saadar/Chaadar' I don't know what exactly the english word for this separate piece of cloth will be .. It's actually separat than the Qameez if you see it's not attached with it ..

Is a Chaadar the same as a Pathu? Or are pathus different because they are made from wool?

I have 2 pathus, one from Afghanistan and the other Swat, they make nice ones in Swat.

i think they are called qadifa but i might be wrong.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

Men usually get it in wool around the cold season, and cotton for all year long.
