Why is it a must you girls must wear white wedding dress to a wedding. Why cant the bride wear a nice beautiful Afghan clothe or nice beautiful maxi or you know something else.


Why does it have to be that?

Well, the white wedding gown has been a tradition of the West, and most countries have adopted that. But in Afghanistan, some brides do choose to wear the green traditional Afghan Dress.

But your wedding is your day, you wont see a girl wearing a big white dress any where else....you can wear an Afghan dress anytime for Eid or even for other peoples wedding.

white dress is not just a western culture... in many tribes back in afghanistan brides wear traditional afghan white clothes. white symbolizes purity and it is the same back in afghanistan. girls wear green at the time of their nikkah and white at the wedding.

What do I mean by that? In a situation like that, an addition to a family, and you decide you don't want the dol and singaar, and a doom daam wedding. A simple wedding, with two families and friends joining in. Now, you've got yourself into a lot more than you think. People don't realise that some people find happiness in simplicity. Some people like to weigh either side (groom or bride) in either gold or gifts. For some, the more materialistic they are, the better. The bigger the wedding hall, the longer the limo, the bigger the cake, the longer the wedding dresses' tail, the bigger the bouquet, the heavier the tuxedo, the shinier the shoes, and the heavier the gold, it works. They go by 'the more the merrier' saying in their lives. And these are not hypothetical situations. This happens ... and has infact happened ...
