i have seen in majarity of arab countries, muslims are using white wedding dress, includining saudi arabs, no fatwas have been issued. white wedding dresses have been seen frequenting afganistan arusi houses too, apart from the afg green, and white quite exclusively in iran. PKstanis have used red, which reflects their indiaginus culture.
is there a 'islamic' wedding dress colour for muslim broads?

tell me about it lol, My family always saids "da kho di mohamadano ya Kabuliano di".Originally posted by Roshina View PostBUUUUT!!! Here's what I consider the best type:

I'mna have to take several years to convince my family that this dress isn't for "Kabulis" (an insulting term when said like this) and is our traditional outfit! :S Once I convince them, then I will wear it. I've never, ever owned an Afghan/Pukhtun dress, so what could be better than wearing one for the first time on your wedding, yeah?!
its because they don't know their history and have been brought as Pakis so thats why they said these ignorant things.

What's wrong with white wedding dresses? And, no, there's no "Islamic" color for a wedding dress (there's only agreement on how covered you must be in the dress; no disagreement on the color -- thank God). It's entirely cultural, and white happens to be the universal preference.Originally posted by torkham View Posti have seen in majarity of arab countries, muslims are using white wedding dress, includining saudi arabs, no fatwas have been issued. white wedding dresses have been seen frequenting afganistan arusi houses too, apart from the afg green, and white quite exclusively in iran. doesn't white represent purity??? the color of islam is green which is the ideal dress of a bride on the night of her nikah. other than that, a white dress can be made appropriate or otherwise depending on how a person chooses to wear it. THE END.
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

When your born you wear white
When your married you wear white
When your dead your wrapped in a white cloth
White represents purity. the colour white has many significances in Islam.----------

A white wedding dress, traditionally in the West, is a symbol of virginity and purity. Take it which ever way you want. But traditionally to people that is what it shows. Now if you want to wear only a green dress, suit yourself. Its your wedding day, spend it the way you like and are comfortable with. Everyone has their own traditions.
Personally, i plan on wearing a green Afghan dress for my engagement because my nikkah will take place then. Then, for the actual wedding date, i want to wear a white gown. Its not everyday you get to wear a white dress.
In fact, i have never worn a white dress in my life.
