This was my wedding dress... Allure...i payed extra to have it altered and cover the upper part. the woman did such a wonderful job that no one could tell that it was altered... she had copied the same work of the dress on the altered parts.... she is excellent and i recommend her to anyone who lives in bay area... let me know if u need her contact

^you have to ask her yourself. i will send you her contact inshaAllah tomorrow... if i don't remember remind me. I am not sure if she only alters or she sews too... but she is just AWESOME!. she is a rusian lady. you might not like her pricing but her work is flawless... if u see the altered parts of my dress u will not believe it wasn't with the dress... she practically opened the whole dress and made a back, front, and sleeves for it!.

remember to start ur wedding dress shopping a year in advance... because it takes 4 to 6 months to get a new one... if u don't go shopping early then u will have to buy something hanging in the store and u might not find what ur looking for.

there are beautiful engagement dresses out there u just have to look around... designing it urself is alot of work but then again its ur choice.

^lol yes!... it really does take 6 months to get a new dress. that is because wedding is still the biggest and number 1 business in united states... yearly every designer dress gets ordered in hundreds and they have to prepare those dresses by certain date ... without any mistakes and any delays... if a bride wishes to order a new dress made from scratch she has to order it at least 4 to 6 months before her wedding, so that the people that make it have enough time to have it ready.

if she doesn't wish to order a new one, then she can just go to any bridal store and try to find the dress she likes in her size... which is a big headache... not every store has every size or every dress. if she doesn't find her own size then she has to pay hundreds of dollars extra to have it altered.

it doesn't have to be... its her own choice. but majority of afghans in cities wear it.

any designer dress is 800$ and above. if you want an ordinary white dress it starts from 200 to 300$...

most of the dresses are sleevless so if a girl is a bit religious/cultural she wiill alter it which costs about 500$ plus the cost of dress...

my dress was 1200$ + 500$ = 1700$

nonetheless, none of this matters if the outcome of marriage is not good. if one is unhappy after marriage, even if u spend a million on ur wedding it wouldn't mean anything.

I have too many ideas that i cant do it all on one dress....yes i know, i am a freak.

But i know for sure i want a ball gown, with sleeves up to my elbows, plenty of beaded jewels on top
