I have seem Muslim women buying North American traditional dresses (white), who then try to pull off the hijab and everything with it. Not to be rude, but they all look like elephants, even if they're thin. Until I converted, I always thought I would wear the white dress, but now I would much rather not. If you dress Islamic like I do, with modest, non-fitting clothes and a hijab, these dresses look horrible. I think the traditional afghan dresses, or the pakistani dark red dresses are GORGEOUS! I guess though that all depends on whether you want a women only celebration and no men will see you. Women only celebrations, women dress veryyyy sexy! hehe

LOL! OMG, I knoooooooooooow!!! I go to these Middle Eastern all-female gatherings, and I'm ALWAYS speechless when I see the way everyone's dressed! Most of the Pakistani and Indian girls in the gatherings/parties wear either jeans/shirt, traditional dresses, or skirts that go slightly below their knees, but a few of them wear the same as almost all of the Middle Eastern girls. We're just not used to this, even among all females! lol. Hell, my mom hates seeing me without a headcover in my own room, let alone showing arms -- or, worse, LEGS! -- among other females! lol.Originally posted by Muslimah View PostWomen only celebrations, women dress veryyyy sexy! hehe

I want a princess/ball gown. I want it to be big and puffy and all that jazz for my wedding Insha'Allah. For my engagement, I want something tight and very cheek. The amazing Afghan clothes that are going to weight 40 pounds (you girls know what I'm talking about) will be saved for my Nikkah day and I'm planning on being the epitome of a bollywood bride.
Something elegant and similar to one of these dresses. =)"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

I am getting my wedding dress designed and made personally from me. That way i know how long of a train i want, i know the littlest designs, and how i want it to be covered.
I also want my engagement dress designed too. My cousin is a designer and a tailer in Afghanistan, so i am going to ask her to do it.

Aww why not? Is it the whole white dress theme that you don't like? It'll be your wedding day, so wear whatever you love and feel the most beautiful in. =)Originally posted by naziaKandahari ella I don't like wedding dresses da weley?

Wedding dresses are overrated.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
