I like those glass bangles they have back home. The ones that you can only buy from the gypsies on the roadside back home. I think I once bought a delicate torquise bracelet which I live wearing with black.
I have a dark jade ring that a friend bought for me a while ago which looks pretty similar to the green earrings posted above which I wear.large earrings only on others...

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

The only thing with glass bangles that I don't like is if they get wet, the glitter and all starts to peel off. One of my pairs ended up looking like clear glass but they still looked just as nice. Other than that, I love the sound of glass bangles as opposed to 'masalai' ones ... sta de bangrho shrhang shrhang ...

              Mahzala,

Yes, it seems lapis goes with silver - I rarely have seen it set with gold.

Why not copy any of these designs that you like and ask your jeweller to set them in that arrangement?

That pair above is nice, too.

I still like the pink ones the best so far.

These elaborate long ones ARE a little heavy to wear too long but they look so nice on and complement any outfit whatsoever.

Catya, the whole jeweler thing is something people do back home. Here, that's not the trend, which makes those sorts of purchases and requests a lot more expensive. Instead, you'd rather purchase an already made set if you really had to.

How about these (below), are they still in?

This hair piece is quite unique, I've not seem them a lot. Jewellery is just right - delicate, not too flashy yet glamourously attractive and one tone.

                    Mahzala,

I missed your reply - but had just come to the same conclusion.
I wish I could take a fast trip over there and get my lapis earrings
re-done just how I want them....!!

You're exactly right: no jewelry expert here will really understand
the way they do over there. Such magnificent work, too.

Well, next time anyone goes, tell me !

@ GOE YES! I love nomad jewelry!

A nice, turquoise bracelet can look amazing with a plain black long sleeves shirt. Here, she's wearing a turquoise belt and it gives her very simple outfit (blue jeans, black shirt) an elegant touch =)
