I try to avoid wearing red and yellow clothes .
I don't wear clothes with naughty pictures on them .
I also try to avoid wearing clothes that would not be conveniant for praying , i.e. shirts that are not long enough and might show part of my back while doing "sujood" , trousers that might go down during "sujood" ...etc.
I don't wear gold rings since Muslim men are not allowed to wear gold . I also don't wear silk for the same reason .

Curious question, is there any difference in wearing fake/imitation gold or silk then the real thing?Originally posted by MohannaD View PostI try to avoid wearing red and yellow clothes .

I think you're allowed to wear silk as long as it's not pure, I remember seeing a hadith where a silk/wool blend turban is worn?
Sanan Abu Dawood Book 32, Hadith # 4027
Narrated Sa'd: I saw a man riding on a white mule and he had a black turban of silk and wool (not pure silk). He said: The Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) put it (the turban) on me. This is the version of Uthman, and there is the word akhbara in his tradition.
If anyone has read T. E. Lawrence's 'The Seven Pillars of Wisdom', the Arab's in those times wore lots of silk lol

Fake gold is not gold , but I'm not sure what if the person had the intention of showing it/ using it as if it was gold ...Originally posted by Elsii View PostCurious question, is there any difference in wearing fake/imitation gold or silk then the real thing?

As for silk I know it's Haram , Ladies wear it , maybe some men do but not in my circle . As for T. E. Lawrence to be honest I wouldn't believe everything he has said or has written , still he might be right .
As for mixed silk to be honest I'm not sure, I wouldn't buy fabric that has silk (unless I wasn't told and I didnt notice) .
