Is this thread for women too? Before I get an answer, I might just respond =D

Rings, sure do. I find silver, gold, platinum or white gold more attractive than say light or rose gold, chunky gold or ethinic pieces. What appeals to me more are diamante's, diamonds, rubies, garnets, emeralds, sapphires - basically most of the stones. I prefer them over opals, pearls and mother of pearls. Photos of my own? Maybe in a later post.

Yes Tor_Khan, nothing beats Middle Eastern gold. I was once wearing these three rings I have (Saudi gold) to a friends get-together and there I met a friend of mine that I hadn't seen for about three years. She was repeatedly asking if I am married, and that I got married and didn't even invite her to the wedding or engagement. I was like dude, where are you coming up with all of this? And she points at my rings. I couldn't help but laugh. It is so rich, it is considered bridal gold - *apparently*.

I cant wear rings. I know it is a sunnah. But I can't. They annoy me. I don't even wear a wrist watch.

Rasul allah sal allahu alayhi wasallam use to wear a ring. Therefore it is a sunnah. However, there is a distinction of various forms of sunnah. If he would specifically command Muslims or advice Muslims to do something, then it is recommended or obligatory sunnah. And if he use to do something, but he never recommended it, then it is also sunnah. But not required.

Just like having long hair. Prophet Muhammad saw use to have long hair. That is called sunnah. BUt men are not required to have long hair.

The ring pophet Muhammad saw use to wear was also a stamp. And the mark of the stamp looks like this:

I LOVE jewelry... and, yet, I rarely wear any, even though I have at least one color for every outfit (earrings, necklaces, etc.)

And as for rings, I love them. I get fancy-looking ones and purposely wear them on the ring-finger so as to keep "chingamaan" (chewing gums) away, 'cause when they see a ring, they assume I'm committed. And they keep unwanted aunties looking for daughters-in-law away, tooooooo

                    Yeah! I love rings.

We're the same when it comes to jewellery. I have an earring stand that holds up to 150 pairs, and I tell you it is full. But that's not it, I think that is just a third of how many I have. I sometimes tell myself that with my earrings alone I can feed a whole village of kids ... =( And the jewellery, set after set, every singe colour. But unlike you Qrratu, I wear mine. I've got to wear it, just love it =D

OMG! Why are women like that? You see, I had a bad habit when I was a kid, cracking my knuckles every second, so now, I've developed these hulk-like hands. And my rings don't fit every finger, so I stick to the 'ring' finger. And believe you me, SO many Afghan women have asked me to put it on another finger. They're like Mesbah you're lowering your chances ... and then my sister goes off at them =D Women ...

LMAO!!! It does lower our chances, but if someone's REALLY interested, they'll dig into it and eventually figure out, hahaha! Gosh we're hilarious.

And, yeah, I just love staring at mine :S I love having them but I can't get myself to wear them at all. Like, see, take this one pink pair of *everything* I got about two weeks ago. I have this pink shirt that I absolutely love, right, and so I got me these pink shoes and jeans with pink embroidery and a pink hijab and (whaaaat, you know what I think of this), and all that was missing was jewelry to make it a full set. So I buy this rrrrrreally beautiful necklace and earrings, right, and I make sure to put them right on a stand so that I wear it all. But, noooooo ... come dressing time, I go, "Gosh, what was I THINKING!" I wore all the pinks except the jewelry :| I just couldn't. I convinced myself I'll wear 'em when I'm going to a gathering or something; but then again, I don't get to wear the shirt So, so much for my love for jewelries! But, OMG, they're SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL!

And, yeah, I, too, think of how I could feed an entire village with the money I spend on this. :S But there are ways to make up for that, so ... I mean, this is our (or at least my) way of making myself happy, and it works for me... even if it's just sitting there. :D

the other day i went to my little sister's room. her room is a girl's heaven. she has all types of jewelery and hair clips....
nothing of the sort in my room. my father gave up on the idea of bringing me jewelery gifts long time ago. i just can't be interested in one thing for a significant amount of time.
