Nashenas was born as Sadiq Fitrat in Kandahar.He is ethnic Pashtun from the KAKAR tribe. He sings in both of Afghanistan's languages, Dari and Pashto as well as in Urdu. He is believed to be currently residing in London, UK.
He is a famous singer since the 1970s whose albums consist of Pashto, Dari, and some Urdu songs.
While growing up his family stressed to him the importance of religion but he is said to have developed an interest in Music. In the early 1970s, Nashenas traveled to the Soviet Union USSR where he obtained his doctorate in Pashto Literature rom a university in Moscow.

Since his debut appearance on "Radio Kabul" 45 years ago, the Afghan singers and musicians Dr. Sadeq Fetrat Nashenas in the Afghan and Indian music world highly valued and respected.
The artist makes use of the languages of his native Dari and Pashto, and Urdu, the language of India. Above all, his admirable art capability in Afghanistan and
Indian Classical empathize and to interpret them with instrumental accompaniment, his concerts have become an impressive listening experience.

Nashenas (Pashto ناشناس) (also spelled as Nashnaz and Nashinas) (born Sadiq Fitrat) is a popular Pashtun singer from Afghanistan, whose albums comprise of Pashto, Persian and Urdu songs. He is currently residing in London, England.
Early years
Nashenas, an ethnic Pashtun from the Kakar tribe of Musazay, was born in Kandahar, Afghanistan. His native tongue is Pashto.
He was raised in a traditional Afghan family who stressed his attention be given to education. He is said to have developed an interest in music sometime during his teenage years and was encouraged in this pursuit, due to his prodigal grasp of Pashto and Persian poetry. In the early 1970s, Nashenas traveled to the former Soviet Union where he obtained his doctorate in Pashto Literature from a university in Moscow.
His stage name
Due to the family restrictions he was not allowed to sing or get involved in music, so when he first sang in Radio Kabul he hid his identity from his parents by calling himself Nashenas (meaning the Unknown).
Fame
Though he is a native of Afghanistan, he is equally popular among the Pashtun population of both Afghanistan and Pakistan. He has a great many fans among the Dari speaking people of Afghanistan. He has a following among new singers as well, who are noted to imitate his style of singing. Nashenas had his final round of concerts in 2004, touring California, New York, Washington D.C and also Canada.

I agree has to be a bedouin "dam" approved by King Abdullah. Bia khoo warpaasi munz hum jaiiz dhay. Offcourse you are ashamed, how else would you feel. A pashtoon having achieved something must be very hard to swallow.

Ya I remember the good old days, when we would hire a mullah for 1 ruppee, sorry underpayed your kin but those were old days, the role of mullah in pashtoon society is a little under the dam, ask your grandfather he will tell you, and then tell him what you told me. LOL
