I don't get it? I guess that is why our music does not evolve. Don't get me wrong, I love traditional Afghan music, but we should have singers who know how to sing. Nothing beats the real human voices. It touches you so deeply.
I love Mangal's early music...
Just because it is cool to be a singer, does not mean that you should just sing for that sake. The first step is to be endowed with the talent, or at least acquire it professionally.
i listen to the lyrics not the voice. these days most of the pashto singers do have the potential but they don't try hard enough because as asli said, they sing for the sake of singing only and their audiences aren't too picky about it either. which is why you end up with a singer who has a new album coming out so often but you cant stand listening to their songs more than three times because they are boring and meaningless. i think they should allow singers to release a certain amount of songs only per a selective period of time so they can focus on the quality of what they are putting out for the public.
you know what else i hate about pashtun female singers these days??? that gasp thingy that they have adapted from nazia iqbal...that gasping thingy that they do to make it seem as if they are crying. makes you want to slap them.
nazia iqbal...oh god...she becomes so boring after a while.
nashenas' old songs don't become boring, i guess because he uses real instruments...i don't like his concerts or new releases worked on with the keyboard...
the golden age of Afghan music is dead and perhaps gone forever...no one is alive from that era to keep it going.
