there is a time and place for everything. i would be pissed off too if i was sitting in a plane and someone was singing in their native language and beating the drum under my nose. he was making stupid comments on the white guy sitting next to him which i assume the white guy sensed.

qanduz, you are absolutely right...last time I visited Pukhtunkhwa, I happened to be in a Hujra and the villagers had arranged a musical program...it was a typical farming community...we enjoyed it a lot...there was an old kaka who sang old Pashto and Indian songs ...the instruments were rabab, mangay, tabla, and harmonium...they told us they almost routinely hold such programs...very lively people...

the program lasted till late and at that point the Hujra chief served us with delicious food ....

Although I agree that a plane is not a proper place for such things....But that may be the exception...Pashtuns are shy people and avoid dancing, singing, etc. in front of others...
