I saw the new prequel for John Carpenter's "The Thing" (original movie is from 1982)
It was okay - it was scary, but perhaps not so different from the original.
The original movie is itself based on the 1938 short story "Who Goes There?" written by John Campbell. When I read that story as a small child, it really scared me.Comment

Today I saw "The Three Musketeers"(2011 remake), which had lots of action and special effects. They use that stop-and-go super-slow-motion effect known as "bullet time" for the sword-fighting action scenes, which is always entertaining to watch.
Haha, one day someone will have to make Afghan action movies in a similar style.Comment
