Google Music comes to India with Hindi songs

New Delhi: Google has launched its online music service in India that enables users to search for legal music streams and downloads.

For its Indian music search service (http://www.google.co.in/music) Google has partnered with In.com, Saregama and Saavn. The three digital music providers, hold rights to hundreds of thousands of Indian tracks - ranging from old and new Bollywood hits to Indian classical music. The music search service currently indexes only Hindi songs.

Users can search for a particular song, an album or even for artists. On clicking the search results the songs play on a pop-up window.

I genuinely believe that if there are any musicians who can make music which won't bore people for even after a decade, then it's an Indian musician. It has happened so many times that for a while I started to listen to foreign music and stopped listening to Indian songs, but after a few weeks got fed up and returned to Indian music. It indeed is very addictive, especially since it has got so many different styles of music.

Feroza,

Unfortunately, I don't know any way of downloading songs from there right now. But if I find one, I will post it here.

BTW you can find almost every Hindi song on Google Music and the audio quality is also much better than the crappy ones at youtube.
