cmooooon maane....dont pizz on my leg and call it waterOriginally posted by کیش View PostNas lost the battle with Jay-Z. He's diss song (I don't even know from the top of my head) was all about elementary disses about looking like a camel and having big lips. jay-z destroyed him by dissing him by real life standards: Nas isn't what he portrays as a rapper. He's not filthy rich, or been in those situations where he raps about. Jay-z subsequently signed Nas to his def jam label--talk about defeat.
Check out this clever diss:
"me and the boy AI, got more in Carmen than balling and rhyming, get it more in Carmen.'
Carmen is Nas baby mother. Both Jay and Iverson have banged his baby mama, btw.
Jay-Z raps about money and hustling, presenting it with clever words and stories. His discography is close to 10 albums, man.
i remember dec 4 2001 like it was yesterday. nasir jones dropped that ether dog cmon maaane. had jigga man on the radio the next week with angie martinez shook like a pair of dice
"i mean...it was so vulgar"
then jigga man spent the next album bp2 acknowleging defeat and trying to make excuses

Rap or hip-hop isn't just a NY thing, nor is it a black monopoly. Eminem has proofed to be better then 99% rappers, by consistenly putting out hits. It's mostly about living (or having lived) your rhymes. If you lived that life, and make it rhyme smoothly than that's what is the art.
For the people who go out of they way and try to bring "meanings" to it, you should stick to writing poetry. I know I could rhyme better than 90% of rap/hip-hop artists. I've easily done it before, but I stay away from putting some "spiritual" thing into it. Most of the hip-hop artists that try to be spiritual are hypocrites, just like a preacher is one.

I know that everybody says Nas beat Jay-Z, it even made Jay-Z insecure. But Ether is filled with just some elementary rhymes like "fat lips" "Joe Camel" etc. . . Jay-Z has the right to say in terms of money, real hustling, and success "move over little nigga."
Not to make it into a NY monopoly, French Montana (a morroccan Muslim btw) is getting famous. He brought his business to the ground up, from selling dvd's he produces independently. Also, that French Montana/Wacka Flocka mistake was fire...Last edited by کیش; 02-11-2012, 12:35 AM.

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

The thing I like about Tech and certain other underground artists is that he wont shove his views down your throat. You choose to listen to his music, you choose to be educated by him but he wont care whether you believe in what he raps about like illuminati or all that stuff. He just wants you to think for yourself. Think critically and come to your own conclusions. His primary concern isn't making money but making music. He even encourages you to 'illegally' download his music from youtube or whatever as long as you burn it to a disc and share it with as much people as you can to spread the message. I respect that.
Sad thing is, relatively few people listen to that sort of music with their youtube videos only getting a few hundred or a few thousand views.
Someone else I like is D.I.S.L Automatic.
His verse here is dope.
Yo I put my music on the web as a method to spread my message
People be like Diesel, why you getting so aggressive
I do it cos I pissed off
our whole lives we been lied to, treated, mistreated, decieved and ripped off
Manipulated, monies being created from nothing and then inflated by companies who persuaded
the government reinstate it to punish us with the payment of it
duress and enslave us with debt
this sh*t's outrageuous I bet
that they afraid of a motherf**ker like me
cos i'm down for the right to live my life free
f**k Nike and f**k your Air Jordan
When you buy they sh*t, slave labour's what you supportin
Little girls in Asia make the fashion you be sportin
for pennies as they wages so companies make a fortune
they live in misery but f**k it let's just ignore 'em
I think you ignorant if your image is more important
Then other people's lives
Wake up and realise
Empathy is when you see things through other peoples' eyes
I know they feeling pain so now I feel the same
sh*t is real as ever and you think its still a game
You made a couple million now you chilling living comfortable
Thinking you untouchable like hey nobody f**k with you
Guess what, you wrong
you nothing but a pawn
Only reason that you one, is you willing to conform
You sold your soul for material things
I give a f**k if people think that you a lyrical king
Ain't it funny how they love it when a grown man brags
About the jewellery and money that none of his fans have
Getting dough has become a worthless topic
They must be Christian the way they worship the prophets
Stop it
Paper money is make believe
So if that's all you rap about then you a fake MC
Might be mistakes there since I typed it up myself..
Awesome tracks. Especially Pleasantville.
None of them have more than 10,000 views.---
To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
own inclinations and desires.
