Last I heard the roads hadn't been paved in Aryob, so I don't know if this is really it or not, but in either case it is quite beautiful Subhanallah.

Unfortunately the wars and Paki military/thieves have done a lot of damage to the area. It has been majorly deforested. Many very old zerghonzi (chalghoza) trees have been cut down and their lumber sold for cheap in Pakistan, and some rivers that would flow year round are drying up in the summer.

About half the roads are paved in Aryob.

The Zazi themselves deforested their lands during the 90s when the gov collapsed. They saw no regulated body of control and they sold the lumber filling up their pockets. The Taliban actually put a stop to it when they came.
The Germans in the 70's were teaching people how to properly replant trees to prevent deforestation but the program went down hill after the Soviet invasion. The Germans came back after the US invasion and the Germans have done a lot of good building canals and trying to create some kind of forest management system but the Afghans working in those offices are a bunch of lazy fcks who just take the salary and do nothing. When asked why they do nothing, their answer was, the people at the top do nothing, why should we.

If Denmark and Pakistan mostly/Afghanistan ever made a competetion about natural habits, Denmark would get it's ass owned. The mountains and the green ass trees looks amazing. We don't even have tall hills in Denmark.
