I love this song

Mozhdah - Herat | #Ethnosessions ( مژده جمالزاده - هرات) - YouTube
"For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,
I awaken the Ajam by this Persian [language]. "

-Ferdowsi.

This is pretty good, I always felt Mozhdah was really classy. I'm not fond of the production though. it's like borderline autotune. Too digital.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

I find her a bit annoying, man, but her songs are nice. Classy.

I meant in terms of her music.

We're evaluating her music not her lifestyle.

kinda agree with Khostai.

some of this artist's music videos is not much adhering to values of a muslim society. too much westernized/sexualized/liberal for the group she tries to cater to.

you guys supporting her, means she is doing something right. lol I thought you guys were some of biggest promoters of Islamic values. lol

It makes me cringe how low some of these fake Afghan artists are willing to go in order to make money. good music doesn't need sexual content in order to sell.

how so?
its the first time he actually said something reasonable.
khostai is dilusional when it comes Afghanistan and his support for extreme militant seculeriam, but he is right about mozdah behaviour not being in accordance with anything Islamic or Afghan.

All she's doing is sitting in a room wearing Afghan Kali with a few male musicians . Where is the sexual content?

Liking her music is not the same as endorsing her lifestyle, which I know nothing about. That's ludicrous. And what is she doing that female pashtana singers aren't doing? Is it just because she's Farsiwan that she's doing something immoral? As far as I can see she's a musician and she's making music.

Get rid of this archaic thinking. It's not Islam

Not everything Afghan is Islamic though. We don't have to smother women to be good Muslims. We don't have to shun art and music to be proper Afghans.

Mozdah has a nice voice and sings well but she is a skirt wearing liberal freak who is into using her sexual appeal to sell.

I said some of her videos, implying others, not the one posted here. Not that I specificially search for it, but her music airs on tv.

When she is lusting over half naked guy taking a bath in the beach or kissing some random guy and getting groped, and sexually positioned in music videos. It's cringeworthy seeing women of muslim background doing stuff like that.

the worst part is when one artist doing something out of the norm, and consumers react neutral/positive to it, makes it more acceptable for other artists to follow suit.

There’s a video of hers called something like “boro boro” where he’s wearing very little clothing and lusting after some white dude on a beach. Not classy at all and very cringey.

Most Afghan singers, Farsiwan or Pashtun (or otherwise), do not go as far as she does, but if it’s not rejected and criticized, it’ll become the norm in the next generation.

Dude, she is just sitting on the floor, singing a Herati song. She is not naked, but wearing an Afghan dress. I do agree modern Afghan pop musicians are cheap AF but there is not much inmoral in this videoclip.

You got a point regarding her behaviour that its too liberal. An Afghan girl shouldnt behave in such ways. But this thread was about her song, not her.
