The pashto of southern KPK and Waziristan(especially the latter) is very hard for northern pashto speakers to understand. In fact, it is also hard to understand for other southern Pashto speakers.Originally posted by Shapur View PostDamn, I thought I would undrestand the accent fully but its hard to understand everything said.Originally posted by Kaushika
majority of Hilly Rajputs are the product of these cross breeding and want to disassociate with their past. rajputs with rajwadi surnames consider themeselves superior but those native kings who look darker gets mocked as "gola" (mix breed, son of rakhile) so they actually invite light skinned rajputs and kshatriya tribes from Jammu region such as jamwals to sleep with their women so that their wives can give birth to pure white looking Native Child.

For some reason because I thought Marwats are related to ghilzais their accent will be closer to us but seems like its close to wazirwola. I find Kandahar/Quetta/Pekhawar accent easier to understand as a middle dialect speaker than wazir or Bannusi accent.Originally posted by Traveller View PostThe pashto of southern KPK and Waziristan(especially the latter) is very hard for northern pashto speakers to understand. Tribe isn't the only factor in dialect. Area is also important.Originally posted by Shapur View PostFor some reason because I thought Marwats are related to ghilzais their accent will be closer to us but seems like its close to wazirwola. This Marwat dialect is quite unique actually. It is different from Wazirwola. In the video the Marwat guy is mimicing Wazirwola and Bannu dialects.
The reason you,Shapur can better understand the Southern Kandahari/Quetta dialect is because they use a lot of words and terminology which is generally used in Afghanistan.
The northern dialect of Peshawar and surroundings is probably the most common and well known dialect and I would say that a Pashtun from practically anywhere would be able to understand it.

Another reason is , northern dialect Pakhto is taught in our schools, and thats how we read the Pashto text........although our dialect is different, Pashto poets from our areas do poetry in hard dialect. Same is case with Waziristan and Bannu , they switch to easy northern dialect in poetry and songs. Moreover people from our areas watch TV shows of Peshawari dialect.....so Pashtuns from South can understand Peshawari Pashto but people from upper districts find it difficult to comprehend ours (particularly of Bannu and Waziristan). As their ears are not used to it, so they are generally unable to pick up even simple tazhay (tagay), shaza/shaja (khaza) etc alternations in early communications.Originally posted by toughpashtun View Post@Traveller and @Shapur
