    son of a lion 2007
A pashtun boy of khyber tests weapons but wishes to go to school.
Gilmour visited Darra Adam Khel in August 2001, on his way from Australia to Britain, and wanted to make a film that would combat negative Western perceptions of Pashtuns and Muslims following the 11 September attacks.

King of the Khyber Rifles (1953)
      Storyline

Freshly arrived Sandhurst-trained Captain Alan King, better versed in Pashtun then any of the veterans and born locally as army brat, survives an attack on his escort to his Northwest Frontier province garrison near the Khyber pass because of Ahmed, a native Afridi deserter from the Muslim fanatic rebel Karram Khan's forces. As soon as his fellow officers learn his mother was a native Muslim which got his parents disowned even by their own families, he falls prey to stubborn prejudiced discrimination, Lieutenant Geoffrey Heath even moves out of their quarters, except from half-Irish Lt. Ben Baird. Brigadier general J. R. Maitland, whose policy is full equality among whites, learns King knew Kurrum Khan as a boy and charges him with training and commanding native cavalry, which comes along fine. The general's egalitarian daughter Susan Maitland takes a fancy to King, even falls in love but the general decides to send her safely home to England after a kidnapped attempt when King saved.

          Jamal: The Illegal Immigrant
He's a lonely soul, searching for fortune abroad

Only God knows what he's been going through

Working hard all day, working night and day , he's so far away

Every night in this foreign country he prays

He would say to his family so so far away:

          "Mother don't you cry,

Father please don't let her cry

          Mother don't you cry,

Father please don't let her cry

          I'll be back one day

I will take you away from this slum, and degradation

I will show you one day

I'll be rich one day, We'll be free one day"

He's a lonely soul, searching for fortune abroad

He has seen it all, all the pain and hunger back home

Where he was born, where he found love, so so so far away

Every day in this foreign country he thinks of her

He would say to his wife so so far away:

          "Baby don't you cry,

Oh my baby please don't cry

          Baby don't you cry,

Oh my baby please don't cry

Carry On... Up the Khyber (1968) a famous comedy movie of carry on series
Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond is Queen Victoria's Governor in the British India province of Khalabar near the Khyber Pass. The province is defended by the feared 3rd Foot and Mouth Regiment (The Devils in Skirts), who are said to not wear anything under their kilts. When Private Widdle is found wearing underpants after an encounter with the warlord Bungdit Din, chief of the warlike Burpa tribe, the Khasi of Khalabar plans to use this information to incite an anti-British rebellion. He aims to dispel the "tough" image of the Devils in Skirts by revealing that contrary to popular belief, they do indeed wear underpants under their kilts.

A diplomatic operation ensues on the part of the British, who fail spectacularly to prove that the incident was an aberration. The Governor's wife, in the hope of luring the Khasi into bed with her, takes a photograph of an inspection in which many of the soldiers present are found wearing underpants, and takes it to him. With this hard evidence in hand, the Khasi would be able to muster a ferocious Afghan invasion force, storm the Khyber Pass and reclaim India from British rule; but Lady Ruff-Diamond insists that he sleep with her before she parts with the photograph. He delays on account of her unattractiveness, eventually taking her away with him to Bungdit Din's palace.

              Khyber Patrol 1954

Captain Kyle Cameron, a Canadian not overly impressed by discipline and diplomacy, dismisses both and loses half of his British Lancers in a battle to maintain their hold on India's Khyber Pass. Cameron incurs the wrath of his superiors---small wonder considering the KIA count---when he violates Afghan neutrality in pursuit of the guerrillas. But he has been duped. Seems that the evil Russians have been financing some guerrilla warfare in hopes of provoking a border incident and thusly justifying a move into neutral Afghanistan, the key to British-held India.

Award-winning documentary film ‘Saving Mes Aynak'

Saving MesAynak, which had a world premiere at the International Documentary Film Festival 2014, exposes the plans of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), a Chinese state-owned mining company, to turn a 5,000 archeological siteinto a copper mine, destroying old Buddhist relics.

Located in Taliban-infested central Logar province, Mes Aynak is a 5,000 year-old Bronze age site and 2,000 year-old Buddhist Silk Road city of massive historical and cultural importance

Mes Aynak, which translates into “little source of copper”, is a site located 40 km southeast of Kabul in central Logar province. It contains Afghanistan’s largest copper deposit and remains of an ancient settlement with more than 400 Buddhist relics.

In November 2007, MCC was granted a 30-year lease for 3 billion USD, making it the biggest foreign investment in the history of Afghanistan. The Ministry of Mines believes the site holds six million tons of copper and is expected to be worth tens of billions of dollars.

However, there have been concerns about environmental impact of the excavation and destruction of the age-old Buddhist relics

the film is set to release in Afghanistan for free. The filmmakers are offering free stream of the much-awaited documentary to people in Afghanistan at www.savingmesaynak.com before midnight on July 1, which has been declared Save Mes AynakDay globally.

                    Thank you Marwat.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
