China is Leaving America in the DUST - YouTube

  • #2
toramana, did you mean to say 'crappers'?
i saw, on a program, that a lot of these skycrappers are vacant and they are having difficulty renting them out.
these kind of things, in developing countries, just seems like showing off.

Yes, I meant sky crappers---My Chinese friend tells me property e.g. residential accommodation is very expensive in China---I have heard the Dubai Shiekhdoms are doing such things for glamour and no real use---

Toramana, the difference is in a place like Manhattan, you can't even find a place to live, let alone a place in a skyscraper, while in China they are all vacant. So yes, I agree with your thread title, they are sky crappers in the middle east and China.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

In case of China, I don't that is the case---One or two buildings to boost national pride but a sky crapper every 5 days says something of the utility of these buildings---

My friends tell me, in Shinghai, finding a residential accommodation is un-affordible until you are earning in millions-

this is what happens when they 'modernise' too fast.
instead of putting so much into the development of cities, they should be spreading development out, evenly throughout the country.
in china many poor people are being forced from their villages, farms and gardens, where their ancestors lived before them, and shifted to ghastly highrise apartments.
or there is no work for the young who then have to shift to the cities and large towns.

millions of indians have no toilet, or live on the streets, yet india does space travel, has built up cities and spends billions on war machinery.
too much, rapidly trying to keep up with the joneses.
