From my time here, I know that there are many users who are into anime.
So here is a thread for you people.


I never really liked it. When I went to school, everyone would be watching stuff like Naruto or Bleach but I never saw the appeal.

Only recently did I start to watch some.


So what do people here watch?
What can you recommend?




I just finished watching Gurren Lagann. It is really over-the-top but it really pulls it off well. I liked it. I've also seen Evangelion, Robotech & Digimon (<-- that was just for reliving some childhood memories). All were great.

I hear Cowboy Bebop is good, might start watching that next.

I watched 5 episodes of Avatar.

I can't really get into it. Everyone seems to like it, but to me, it just seems really orientated to younger audiences. The whole premise sounds alright but I dunno, it's just not dark or engaging enough. It's all very light-hearted and the pace isn't really that fast.

That's my opinion at least. I know i'm in the minority on the internet lol.

Ranma 1/2 and Conan are not for younger audiences...but don't waste to much time with it...

I don't watch Anime but i watch series....like That 70's show,Numb3rs and The Big Bang Theory....but again don't waste your time too much with it.

i was going to say cowboy beebop. i didn't really like anime growing up but that one was good. i don't know how well its aged but its worth a watch. i am more into animated comic stuff, dc puts out good animated features.

Haha! everyone says Legend of Korra is good but I just can't picture myself going through all the prior episodes of the old series to get to it. Ah well.

It's alot different to avatar. It's an older one from the 90s and considered one of the best anime of all time by a lot of people. See if you like it.

^ The ending of that series is really crazy. But it's really good too, makes you think on a deeper level than typical anime that just spoon-feed you a generic plot that you've seen so many times before.

When I watch this stuff, I do it over a long time period in small chunks.



I only like deep anime though. Ones that have profound moral messages that really make you think long after it ends. That's the mark of a good producation whether it is an anime, film, music or whatever else.
