I don't agree with three things though; that Pashtun Culture is 6 thousands years old ---that is a huge exaggeration---may be two-three thousands years old; that the girls speak polluted Pashto; that the anchor person uses hi-fi words; that the anchor person says Pukhtuns of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa are amin khwakhi as if Pakhtuns of other places are not aman khwakhi.Last edited by Toramana; 05-21-2012, 01:12 AM.

The girl in the video from south waziristan is from a mehsud family. She pointed out an interesting fact, that their women wear traditional pashtun dress in normal routine, not shalwar kamees. This has been confirmed to me by my waziri friends. My thoughts are drifted to my own tribe. 70 or 80 years ago marwat women also used to wear traditional pashtun dress. But as our areas have desert climate so shalwar kameez quicky became popular and replaced the traditional dress. Nowdays when old marwat women, who have crossed age for pardah, wear this kind of dress. Also some women wear it as fashion on wedding occasions.
Marwat males also dont wear waskets or pakul like wazirs. They always have "chakalay or chadar" on their one shoulder which is an adaptation to face frequent sand storms, they use it to cover their faces from sand and place it on their head to avoid direct sunlight rays on their head. They also wear "khlasay chaplai" of bannu, not charsadiwal chaplai. So we made some adopations according to our desert conditions. I wonder what made other pashtun tribes of settled area to wear shalwar kamees (women's).

Their pashto is lost.
But i can say one thing for sure, the woman speaking about her huge dress from 1:26,is mashaAllah beautiful.
But how does our elders say, they are gaad waadd, lost in nowhere, only the appearance of being pashtun remained, rest you can forget.High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

You are attacking him on right spot, you would be definately making him angry by calling him paki, he hates the pakis most. But i think it would be worst moments for pakis when toramana would open his mouth infront of them.Originally posted by shadowgovernerthis is Afghan culture but toramana like prostitute Mrs Anderson are paki nationalists.
When some pashtun has lost ghairat and pashto(pashtunwali) then we call him "punjabay"...you must have observed it among pashtuns.....so toramana may not be punjabi by blood but he is definately punjabi by character, shallow like them. A hateful, foul-mouthed athiest, who gave up himself to sins and temptations of west and forget allah and rasool.

Its always the case with Urban pashtun, they are gadd wadd, have lost pashto and are never that much traditional. But i would say peshawer is far ahead of your kabul, a dari city.Originally posted by Afghanistan2010 View PostTheir pashto is lost.

many of you appear to think that things should not change. well, they do. get used to it.
in iran, afghansitan, india, nepal, indonesia, malaysia and bali, where i went in the 70s many people wanted to get hold of western clothes, watches, pens, jeans, radios, learn english and even had playboy magazines. humans like to explore new things. that is reality.
