India is braced for its first home-grown, big-budget superhero movie.

The film - Ra.One stars the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and it's packed with special effects.

It opens on Wednesday in thousands of cinemas across India and could break box office records.

It's said to be the most expensive film in India's history. So is this a big leap forward for the Hindi film industry?

maniac roles will not suit SRK image after a series of romantic films.ie. Starating from ddlj to kuch kuch hota he. Etc. In raone he tried a super hero. . Basicaly it is aimed at children. .

My understanding is that they were trying to make a kids Superhero movie, like Iron Man, Tron, Batman, etc.

I like movies with fancy special fx - see my movie review of Real Steel, which had good visual fx and a futuristic high-tech story setting. And if a movie does well, it can even get a sequel.

Sharukh should try more comedy roles, I think his last comedy was more then a decade ago, like in 1998 (Duplicate).
