TweetNews: NATO losing in Afghanistan, needs more time

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen's announcement that the alliance will continue to stay in Afghanistan has drawn negative responses from the American public.
On Monday, Rasmussen called on NATO member-states to increase military budgets and keep up their contributions to the mission in Afghanistan. He claimed that a rapid exit from Afghanistan would still be premature.
"The Afghan society is not yet prepared to take full responsibility for the security," he said.
One person commented by saying that Rasmussen's remark "concedes they are losing all the way & that they need more time to win."
President Hamid Karzai warned NATO on Tuesday that Afghans will no longer tolerate airstrikes that result in civilian casualties. If they continue, he said "we will be forced to take unilateral action in this regard."
"If they continue their attacks on our houses, then their presence will change from a force that is fighting against terrorism to a force that is fighting against the people of Afghanistan," he said, "And in that case, history shows what Afghans do with trespassers and with occupiers." NY Times
