The Word Pashtun "thing" does not refer to a race, so by that I rejected your claims and in fact I reject all of those who claim as such. Mashallah in Toronto we have some huge number of Pashtuns from Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. In fact I think its some 15,000 are right from Pakistan. Their attandence in the mosque are everyday practice, and I have to admit, that I don't go everyday but once awhile I attan 4-7 times a week, and never try to miss the special friday.

We gather and we talk from all field's of politics, language, poetry, race, and ethnic conflicts. I am proud that I am envolved enough in the Pashtun community, that despite not being Pashtu I have experenced everything. When I am in majles of Pashtuns, I am considered Pashtun despite, I am not a Pashtun. So just because I am not Pashtun does not mean you reject me, sure reject my views as I am taking this into professional level of ethnology discussion which you may lack simply due to lack of informity or as your name indicates "Ultranationalist" Whatever the case maybe. But please brother be realistic as in for argument's sake.

Pashtun? Who is pashtun? I have meet many Hindkowans a class of Indic Race or some say "Punjabo" mixed relitively they consider themselves "natives" of Peshawar. Would you reject them as being Pashtun? Hey they consider themselves "Pashtun" maybe in the political level they are considered "non-Pashtun or anti-Pashtun" but what matters is what they call themselves a "Pashtun" right? In fact often presented themselves to the British as "Pathans" of Khans, now I am mixing history and modern day so you be wise enough to know this, if you don't know history get some history knowledge it would help you understand what I am saying. Some of them even practice to what we Farsiwans call Afghanyat or you people call Pashtuniwali or Pashtuwali by that means they even have pride, just as any Pashtun. However in 1950s and 1980s it was different when Pashtuns from around Peshawar came to Peshawar city where businesses were mainly owned by the Hindkowans totally lost their influnce by 1990s. Now Peshawar is the heart of Pashtu speakers as it used to be a non-Pashtun majority now a pashtun majority.
So where did all "majority" hindkowans of Peshawar go? Moved to Mardan? or Abbotabad?. NO they never moved anywhere. Having said that Hindkowan has been forgotten in Peshawar whose majority residence were hindko speakers, are now Pashtu speakers and their 4th generation might even forget that once they were "Hindko"Or Indic race, perhabs even mix with Pashtun by means of intermarriagess.

You might ask why I brought this Peshawari Hindkowan into this. Well they are unique from them who are living outside Peshawar, like Haripur, Mansehra etc. By their own count their population is 9 million in NWFP alone and yet half of them speak Hindko fully this was to be confirmed by Pakistan stats as well. The question is where is the "Other" half? According their own articles which publishes nowadays widly in Hazarastan and NWFP they are "Lost" captured by the influnnce of "Pashtuns". However many of us can also argue that aren't they Jadoon, Yusufzai, Khattak, and Tareen amongst hindkowans as well?
The reality is again going back on claiming who is Pashtun and who is not? Just as 27% of Afghanistan's population is presented as "Tajiks" and yet from 27% of that 55% are native calling themselves Farsiwans are also from mainly Zirak branch as well as other tribes such as Kakar/majority of Ghura khel or Kohi or Kohzad as they call themselves and also some Ghalji and Kochis of Badakhshan, yousufzais of Kabul, Kerlanis of Kunar and Jalalabad. The list goes on and on. When it comes to politic you people consider all of them as "Tajik" a word fit only to Turkics, just as the word Hindko fit only to Indics.

If you want to say that Pashtuns speak only Pashtu and those are the only people that can be considered as "Pashtuns" then fine add all of those races as I mention before which are Turko-mongiolid, Indics and Arabs etc as Pashtun as well, then here is the question to you as coming back to Does language represent Race?. If you want to say NO, but only those who hold to tribalism and hold to Afghanyat and consider themselves to be affliated with other Pashtu speaking tribes as such are also Pashtun then fine why reject us Farsiwans as Pashtun? Why consider us sometimes as non-Afghan? The fact that we consider ourself more Afghan then your 8% or ISI's claim of 25% from whole of Pakistani population who speak Pashtu?

Language does not represent Race; Its only Race that defines people and people's features, looks, taste, dress, and rules/laws. An Hindko would not be considered a Pashtun despite his grandfather might also have been speaking Pashtu. Qasalbash speaking Pashtu, considering themselves Pashtun, cannot be Pashtun despite for over 200 years speaking Pashtu and living and adapting Pashtun society would always be Persian. The Hazaras cannot be Pashtun despite for years living in society such as Kandahar and Ghanzni where Pashtu is dominated, and they speak Pashtu and Daykhondi Hazaras as example cannot be Pashtun would always be Hazara. An example of 60 family of Uzbeks which I witnessed living in Pashtunkot district of Herat cannot be PAshtun despite its under Taliban control once awhile and Farsi is nowhere to be spoken in Pashtunkot despite itys spoken by 68% of Herat's population and only pashtu spoken in Pashtunkot district. Similarily the Arbabzai being same branch of Arbab of Farsi speakers Arbabzadah/Arbabi yet Arbabzai speaking PAshtu proudly consider themselves Pashtun, sometimes confederated with another Pashtun tribe. Yet they are proud to say yes we are Arabs. Same would apply to Hindkowans of whom majority considered to be anti-Pashtun, as they rejected anything good for Pashtuns, such as naming of NWFP, Pashtu language in school of NWFP since 60-75% of NWFP are majority PAshtuns, and 25-40% as being non-Pashtun yet still speaking Pashtu such as Baloch, native Saraki, or Mahajur Indics or Punjabi immigrants and etc etc sometimes consider themselves Pashtun.

Get the simple and basic ideology behind accepting ones as your own or rejecting ones as your own. Which is why I said pick your word intellegently. Just because some Tori khel are Shia and were under Mughal Abkar's influnce does not mean they are not Pashtun despite many PAshtuns reject them as they reject Gandapur Sarakis and some accept them. Its only here in the west that you are sitting behind computer and claiming to what they are and what they are not.

Indeed you have no answer to many of my questions, and if you do it won't be perfect and nor a solution.

I made my point clear if they are speaking Pashtu then they are Pashtun, that I accept; But not in the same notion as nationalistic Racial or Qwamyat but rather people need to understand that Pashtun unity is founded upon basic lingustic, religous and simple rules of Hanifa School, not based on Qawmiyat or Nasil, and nejat, rather linguistically united. Which was why I went back as far as Ahmad Shah baba who united the people not based on Sikh/Shia/Jew etc as long as they speak Pashtu, but rather based on basic foundation of Afghan being, and Hannifa being which is major part of being Pashtun. Majority counts I do not promote Shiaism or Sikhism, and in fact as being proud anti-Shia I am not alone the whole or majority of Afghans are anti-Shia and it was our hate towards these that has founded modern Pashtu language, otherwise why reject Farsi national language of Safivads? During the 1500 and accepting Pashtu, despite Dari is founded upon Ancient Pashtu grammatical structure.
We are Pashtuns, its as simple as that, We have nothing in common to Farsiwans or Dariwans. You dont need the whole history text book to prove that.

Tajiks,Hazaras,Uzbeks and Punjabis have absolutely no relation to the Pashtun people, they are not true Afghans by any sense.

They should know their place in Afghan Society and stop trying to imperialise the Pashtun Majority by their devious tactics of disinformation and lies.

The language of Pashto has been imperialised by both Persians and Arabs, Iam sure the ancient pure pashto wouldnt be like how it is now.
