I was in a plane to Kabul jan... it was in 2006... so the planes in ariana airlines were about 100 times worse than what is now... so the pilot said we are close to kabul and preparing to land... plane was full of Afghans and some foreign journalists... as the plan started landing... it covered around 1000feet of air distance in about 2 seconds... i mean to say the plane just dropped itself around 1000feet... it was horrible!.... everyyyyyyone started saying... La ilaha ilalahu... Allahuakbar.... ya Allah khair! outloud... people took out their little copies of Quran and tasbeh... it was really funny to see everyone so scared... it was a historic landing for me.

Ohhhh omg! those poor people.......when i got into the Pamir plane in Dubai....i swear i was about to like pee in my pants. I didnt not trust the pilot or even the airplane at all! i kept on telling my dad why Pamir it looks old and like a cheap plane or something and i was scared like a little girl ha ha ha

going to kabul is an adventure and it starts way before u even land there hahaha

Ha ha ha ha! There was this Kabuli woman in the plane that was sitting down the aisle and she was freaking out on the plane because someone sat on her seat. She was calling the poor man all those names, waving her arms around, and such and this lady that was with her was trying to calm her down.

You are so right, Kabul is such an adventure! Every time someone goes to Kabul, there are always a lot of funny stories to hear about

I'm really scared of airplanes but i dont make a scene. I tried so hard to fall asleep but sleep will not come to my eyes. I have taken the medicine but it doesnt work on me when i'm in airplane.

Yeah i take half a pill that makes me sleep for like 8 or 9 hours.....i cannot stand the sound of the engine and i even get motion sickness sometimes inside the plane, so it is such a relief to have the medicine.

You have to take a really strong one, its called like Dramamim (sp?) and only take either a half of a pill or a quarter, not a whole pill.

i am telling you. the first few times were okay. i don't know if that was because back then i traveled with family and now i do it alone or what but even when i was with my parents recently, i still had this fear..my father and my brothers joke with me sometimes so it's easy to distract myself while the plane takes off but the more time that passed away the worst it got for me.
i try not sleeping because that leaves me drowsy and it's tricky if you travel alone. i don't want to miss my flight because i fall asleep somewhere.. the worst part is the wait in dubai. i can't leave the airport.. there are perverts everywhere and if you sit in one spot too long it get so cold..

In dubai airport go to the marhaba lounge, they have a nice buffet and nice sofas one can stretch on (maximum 4 hours- but nobody checks). If you dont have bussiness class ticket they charge 50 dollars, but I was able to get through by showing a mastercard checking card (a debit card from my bank). I think they thought it is some platinum travel card or something. In any case did not have to pay anything, a few years back it was only 20 dollars and totally worth it. 50 dollars is a stretch, but you cant beat free (by just showing a mastercard).
Similarly in Gatwick the louge is only 20 pounds with good buffet included, they are not fooled with cards, you have to pay. Totally worth it for these long layovers and the internet is included.

yeah..i don't think i want to lay down and sleep in dubai airport of all the places while i am traveling by myself. i heard there is a mosque somewhere but i haven't found it yet. at least it should be warm.
