"Photographs are footprints of our minds, mirrors of our lives, reflections from our hearts, frozen memories we can hold in silent stillness in our hands--forever if we wish. They document not only where we may have been but also point the way to where we might perhaps be going, whether we know it yet or not. We should converse with them often and listen well to the secrets their lives can tell."---Judy Weiser
If I ask a person a question about the past, for example, they may struggle to remember what they want to express. If the person is holding a photograph it evokes so many memories that they then have much to share.
Whether the photograph was taken by the person holding it, or someone else, it always seems to open doors of feelings.
This is why I often let my photography help me to speak. I had my camera the first time with me in Pakistan, and again it opened doors for me. It speaks where I am silent.
