I wanted to capture the skyline on another cloudy day. I didn't think much of the clouds until I was touching up the picture a little bit. I noticed then how beautiful they really are. Sometimes when I see clouds, I'm amazed at their beauty. The sky seems to be a painting and the main element is the clouds. I'm at awe, all I can seem to say is, "Masha'Allah" because only Allah (swt) could have created such a beautiful sight.
"Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man". -Edward Steichen"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

I so understand your feelings Kandahari Ella. A long time ago I took my first Photography class-though black and white, with work in the dark room-it is my way of expressing myself, or what is important to me at any given time. By the way, beautiful pic!
And yes Wrayun, I did take the pics.....
When my daughter was very little I had to sing to her each night and one of her favorite songs started out (not at verse 1) "Rows and flows of angel hair, and ice-cream castles everywhere, and feathered canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way......" I think the song is called "Both Sides Now".

I have a soft spot for the sky as a whole. The sun's rising and its setting, the rain, the snow and the clouds. I lay on the grass and follow their movement and before I know it, those clouds are changing shape and size. I once noticed something quite spectacular. Sometimes I wonder if it was only my imagination.

As a photographer I have to agree, stormy days make much better photographs than sunny days. Contrasts are greater!Originally posted by SwatMahzala I share similar feelings. I also love the storm and bad weather.
"Sometimes one must move into the shadows in order to see the light."
This often feels like my life. Suffering makes the good more visible. There is more depth in a storm day than in a sunny one sometimes.
