Thank you for answer brother. Yes maybe I was mistaken Kabul with Qandahar? Also I remember seeing that there was snow in Kabul this winter - it looked very amazing.

Thank you sister. Maybe it is different and smaller kind of sandstorm than in the Arabian Desert/Syrian Desert? How is the climate in Kabul?

Brother, Baghdad is sourrund by Arabian Desert to the south, southwest and southeast.

Here you can see that the Arabian Deserts covers over half of Iraq and that it borders Baghdad and outskirts.

To the west of Baghdad you have Al-Anbar which is mix of Syrian Desert and Arabian Desert. To the north you have more mountain and some lowlands, rivers (Tigris, Euphrates both past Baghdad) and lakes.

To the direct east you have mountains as well.

Iraq is often hit by sandstorms more than any country in the Arab world I think because of Shamal wind. It mainly hits Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Here is satelitte photo of sandstorm over Iraq:

This is also why it is so hot in Iraq, Kuwait.

In Baghdad temperatures in the summer often reach 50-55 celcius. World record is 58 celcius so it is VERY hot.

Here is video of evil American invadors and see the asfalt.

Last year people in Baghdad could nearly not fast during the holy month of Ramadan so it was very serious. In country where electricity and water is problem it is very big problem unfortunately.

Soaring Temperatures in Iraq Prevents Fasting - YouTube

I found this on English source so you can read.

"Baghdad has a subtropical arid climate (Köppen climate classification BWh) and is, in terms of maximum temperatures, one of the hottest cities in the world. In the summer from June to August, the average maximum temperature is as high as 44 °C (111 °F) accompanied by blazing sunshine: rainfall has in fact been recorded on fewer than half a dozen occasions at this time of year and has never exceeded 1 millimetre (0.04 in).[44] Temperatures exceeding 50 °C (122 °F) in the shade are by no means unheard of and even at night temperatures in summer are seldom below 24 °C (75 °F). Because the humidity is very low (usually under 10%) due to Baghdad's distance from the marshy Persian Gulf, dust storms from the deserts to the west are a normal occurrence during the summer.[45,46]

Here is some picture of outskirts of Southern parts of Baghdad:

Also fertille land close to Euphrates:

Long post, sorry but wanted to tell more than just few words.

Good Iraqi dates are world famous in the world - especially the Arab world. Dates are grown everywhere nearly.

This story I just first learned today but this became news already a few weeks ago.

This man from the noble Al-Shammar tribe (3 million in Iraq and 2.5 in Saudi Arabia) was hiding for 32 years because he was dissident and was fearing for his life after getting death sentence for not being member of Ba'ath party and speaking against it once in 1979. Only contact to the world was a little radio that only worked once in a month. He was hiding in the Arabian Desert just few km south of Baghdad.

This old man is not allowed to get help from the puppet government because they claim it was his own fault. So much for the justice of the puppet government.

Al-Amadiyah village in Northern Iraq. I always wanted to visit this village. Looks very beautiful:

Jeddah - Taif highway maybe the most beautiful in the world:

                      • ^that's right. the leafy seadragon is even more unreal looking. i went snorkelling in the southern waters of australia to try to see these little guys but had no luck. will try again next time i am in the area. water is pretty darn cold down that way.

manzareh, that oil drop looks amazing. to think oil appears black and the sheen looks so beautiful but it is the cause of so much greed and destruction on the planet.
