is the orange part of the lightning effect or it's like that naturally? i don't know why but i was expecting something more like white sand..or maybe a desert of white sand.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh old times, I have been there twice. They are absolutely AMAZING, especially that one salt lake inside the mine with those big, sharp crystals of salts--really fab.I felt like being in some fairyland or something like that... Oh yes, I licked the walls too since I was curious if they are actually made made of salt or just a hoax :P

Nazia, indeed it is amusing and enchanting to explore. The story of its discovery by Alexander III of the Macedon is eqaully amusing.According to the legend, when Alexander was resting with his Army in Khwera Salt Mines, his horses started licking the stones. The soldier sitting on the horse was pretty amazed to see that and he licked the stones as well which tasted salty. The salt remained the property of local Rajas until British attacked the Salt Mines and captured them.On the one hand, British laid a railway line inside the Mine by making a tunnel. On the other hand, they also increased the prices of mining and the workload on the miners which led to the resistance by the local miners leading to a protest in which some of the miners lost their lives.

On the geological time scale, the age of the mine is 600 millions years ago, hence belonging to the precambrian age. This was the reason I visited besides other reason of exploring unique things.
