I've HEARD of appalling American military behavior but had never seen actual photos.

These pictures are so evocative- the expressions on the faces especially - of what the Afghans have endured for 9 long years now, most of the time probably with no photographers nearby to catch this cruel behavior.

I can't stand the complete heartlessness of the way the U.S. soldiers look. As though the Afghans don't deserve any respect but can be mistreated. Whose country is it, anyway?

Yeah I've been reading back over old posts here and I am shocked at what some people have written. Are they Afghan nationalists or Pashtun nationalists who are pro-America ? I'm trying to get clarity about where such types are coming from.
Is it the socialists who back America now? I'm confused.

Sangar this is not a moment of pointing fingers at members of PF. this is a moment of silence for our Afghan brothers.

I am not in the mood right now. after seeing this pictures I feel like breaking someones face.

grow up. We've been seeing these pictures for the past 9 years.

And every moment is a perfect moment to point fingers at Nationalists.

Go brake a nationalists face who uses the Floods in Pashtunkhwa as an opportunity to attack Muslim charities and accuse them of recruiting people for terrorism.

Any group that promotes a Western ideology, whether its Nationalism or Socialism or Liberalism or even Feminism... all of them support America.

Because all of them represent a very small minority in Afghanistan. Most Afghans are not familiar to Western ideologies.

Only some rich and fortunate people who have been educated abroad, like to promote one or another Western ideology.

But because their ideologies are alien to our society, without foreign aid and support these groups never prevail.

So thats why they are happy to see any invader subduing the dominant masses and surrendering the measn of communication to these minority groups. So that they can spread their gospel of Western ideology.

What stops me is my morals and self-decency. As a Pashtun my action represent the Pukhtun world.

Thanks to Shlombay for posting these pictures. The MORE you look at them, the more tragic they are. Like the grieving father; how the prisoners' hands look to be tied behind them, the irony of the giant heavily armed US soldiers and the little toddler. That one could be a metaphor for the entire very brutal American effort in Afghanistan: stupid ! They are fighting against a threat that equals a little defenseless child. But millions and billions are being spent to subdue that harmless child. And in media efforts to persuade the world of how fearful that child is !
Nearly all the world's population knows better, but why are so many silent? They don't want to lose popularity with the Western nations or maybe handouts.

Sangar, that is REALLy helpful. Exactly what I felt, but did not consciously realize.

I for one would like to explore these dynamics and all such subjects wherever possible to discuss more. To avoid offense, why don't we start more threads to cover this and many other aspects of what's really happening?
I think it's necessary to counter all those who try to ridicule such accurate statements as you make. I can see the truth in what you say on various of these topics.

To everyone: why not pray fervently to get EVERY single evil force out of that region?
Because it's not JUST external armies: it's the devil's work to destroy Afghanistan - and Iran and Turkey. The people there have a lot of good in them. The devil hates that and wants to squash it.
You have to look at the big picture behind American occupation, too. It's the war of darkness against Light. Probably the devil hates the prayers of the Muslims and wants to stop those, and much else.

Why not pray more strongly during this holy time that the devil will be defeated? This is something everyone can do.

It will have a real impact; it's a more active way than getting upset which helps nobody. Why not put that energy into extra prayer and sacrifice?

Thank you, Gulalai for putting the picture here - the more one looks, the more ironic it is, the total mismatch of power. The unbelievably overequipped and heavily armed military men and the confused little child, to whom they must be looking like from outer space.

That's such a nice statement with good advice at the end of the posts you make.
