Yes, it's making a good sense. If others are drawing ethnic maps, we better give it a try as well.

Now Dawezai, I am against the planning of a census right now in Afghanistan. It will hurt us.
    I couldn't agree more.

Do you perhaps have any good information on where we could begin by finding linguistic information about provinces? I really think we should give this project a go.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

We should gather provincial linguistic statistics first. I hope we can proceed with this.

its about being Educated but if you travel trough these areas then you should about the people living there...e.g. I think Naran is not really a pashtun area.

I think Mainwali is half pashtun.

                          Nick,
I think we can take that map of yours and further improve it. We can also add an explanation for most of our steps taken in that map. For example, you said Tajiks are hardly 1 percent, we should add why we made it 1 percent etc.

I think it would be a nice project. What do you say?

Dear Admin Karzai gave the assignment to Iran and it should be out in 2012 hopefully Iranian can up with something good. But I still think they would be continuously use Russian demographical incites such as Pashtun vs Tajik vs Uzbek vs Kazak vs Hazara.

So far there are other NGOs which have been working in Afghanistan and side along the ground army and few useful data has came out which defends Jinkay's point -->http://www.pashtunforums.com/93500-post10.html
BTW dear Dear Jinkay according to most of those maps your Ghazni is not even Dari speaking but rather something "Non-Afghan". Have we forgotten that Ghalzai were the dominated tribe of Ghazni?

Well Actually you can use initial Russian Data as well as late 1980s Afghan Data which proves my point also taking look at historical Real Tajikistani migration data which is available in Russian, and also in UN related links, and being in Tajikistan for 4 year, I fully know and speak Russian. SO Hey I am here to translate if you find some Info which I am looking for, you can post it and I will translate it. The Info that I am looking for for example one is based in Norwegian library, Switzerland etc. SO hey find some Afghans living there and get your hands in true documents. Also I am here in Toronto, I can easily get my hands at Carnegie library and Metro Hall library.

The Problem is, the sources which I am looking for are located in northern Europe and hard to fine ones in Russia. LOL Good Luck!
