forget the stupid buddah, this is the most beautiful part of afg.

Afghan Hazara boy in Bamyan funny interview.flv - YouTube

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Bamyian used to be part of Ghor in ancient times. The valleys are very beautiful.

Band e Amir is beautiful but gets really crowded in summertime. It's a good place for picnics, and taking the boat out into the lake is fun.

There are other places in Bamian just as beautiful too.

By calling Buddha as stupid you are calling names on the most sacred figure of millions of Buddhists for whom Buddha is like a God although there is no God in Buddhism. Buddha can be a prophet of Islam too.

Calling Buddha as stupid is the most stupid thing as his teachings are the fountainhead of wisdom. Taliban were the most stupid who smashed the magnificent statutes of Buddha in Bamyan. That could be another source of tourism income for Afghanistan as a great archeological site.

Bamiyan, Balkh and Ghor is Afghanistan's treasure.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Badlun, it does not take a genius to figure that Randolph was talking about the statue that is made of rock in Bamyan, not the actual person. calling a statue stupid is correct since it cant think.

This attitude is dangerous. You can also say that I am moderator so I don't care. Being a moderator you should be more responsible.

What will you say if a Buddhist destroys a mosque and call the God of Muslims stupid and say that as he is not Muslim but Buddhist so he does not care. We should take care of the religious symbols and places of worship of others.

I am enjoying the photos and I have been to Bamyan and have enjoyed the picturesque, enchanting and enthralling beauty over there but we can enjoy the scenic beauty and at the same time not calling the Buddha stupid.

I have studied Buddhism in detail and for many Buddhists the statue is Buddha as each statue represent Buddha and they worship, honor and respect each statue as Buddha.

This is like Kaaba as the house of Allah for Muslims. Kaaba is also made of rock or stones/bricks but is a sacred place. Similarly each statue of Buddha is holy for Buddhists and we must respect it.

Calling a stone as stupid is again stupidity. Stone can be neither stupid nor wise but this is the symbol which matters.

We should never forgot what we were,

As per many sources the people of ancient pashtunistan were buddhist(this is the reason architect related to buddhism be it in Afghanistan or in swat is found)

not really, finding statues does not mean people were Buddhist. England was filled with statues but Buddhism never reached there. Lets stick with facts and not your fantasies.

Badlun we know better how much you have respect for others when you defended the salman rushdi's book satanic verses. Shame on you.
You should rectify your beliefs and give up osho otherwise you will go to hellfire.
