near Van in eastern Turkey.
Rahman Gul was the leader of all the Kirghiz in the Wakhan area.

the photo of the man with the balloons is fantastic. i wonder how much this man can earn a day, selling balloons. with no other support, people have to survive the best way they can.
i remember seeing young men in india, walking through the crowds with a plastic bag of water and a gold fish in it, to sell. i used to think how little they must earn with such a business. i really respect these people.Comment
