Thanks. I like rakaposhi. One day I'd like to see it. I believe it is in your neck of the woods?
torkham lala---that has made me excited---You will be my guest la khaira---and we would go togethor---I may take up my residence in Swat, or Hazara, or Kashmir mountain, etc. with the winter home at Peshawar.

Der manana!
Ever since i saw pictures of rakaposhi and nanga parbat, and that road KKH going towards Sust, the landscape grabbed my soul. I dreamed of living there, with a view of rakaposhi. No place in Pakistan captivated me as much.
I don't want my passion to gloss over places like karimabad, fairy meadows (stupid english ghulam name), gulmit, shandur, and even farther south, the hingol escarpment!!

you seem to be lot familiar with that part of the world---I myself stayed for a couple of days in Karimabad---that still lives in my memories.
I spent over 5 years in Pakistan in mid 70s. We were in Chitral and then moved to Jhelum then left for good. I like to visit again one day.
That is a lot old---things have changed a lot since then---I went there in 1985 and that is one of the most fascinating experiences of my life---Don't know what is the cause of that fascination ---romanticism of the young age or what---
chitral looks lovely too. i spent a couple of years in himalayas, in nepal and northern india. such beautiful places.
the snow covered peaks, the pines, pristine waters flowing over rocky riverbeds and rhododenrams in flower. clear, clean air with clouds floating down the valley until one is in the midst of it.

I like these northern communities a lot---Chitralis, Burusho, etc. ---peaceful, humble, with a high level of social cooperation, etc.
