  • Fareeha Ghezal Yousufzai

    taken from http://www.time.com/time/arts/articl...833941,00.html

This painting by Fareeha Ghezal Yousufzai was part of an exhibition featuring female Afghan painters called "Make Art, Not War," that was shown in Austria, Italy, Spain, China, and the U.S in 2007.

"It's a tree so withered and broken that only a single scarred branch is still struggling heavenwards. Yet all life has not gone: a tiny leaf, green against the cerulean blue of the sky, stubbornly clings to a twig. For the circle of burka-clad women huddling around the forlorn trunk in the hot, dusty sunshine, it is a sign of hope."

Great and inspiring. i wish Pashtun women take part in all such creative and artistic activities. A collection of such arts and crafts here on this site by all Pashtuns and especially aby Pashtun women will be a great contribution.

Pesho seems expert in this and he-she may contribute more so that we have a systematic collection of arts and crafts by Pashtuns and this way religious bigots are discouraged that they will never be successful in killing the creative instinct of Pashtuns by issuance of their fatwas of shirk and haram on fine arts like music, paintings, sculpture and dance.
