This thread seems very useless to me. It lacks Islam, morals, our cultural codes and decency. Islam teaches us the basics of lowering our gazes yet quite frequently we have female members saying I find so and so good looking referring to the opposite gender, or a male expressing the same thing. I think as Muslims, as Pukhtaane, these remarks should be limited. Simply, it is wrong. Haya, humbleness and modesty are very important qualities we should instil in ourselves.
No matter how old or young we are, we should always be modest in our approach and think twice before saying things. Don't let emotion overtake you. Rasulullah (SAW) said if you don't have anything positive to say about something, the best reply is to stay quiet. These excited posts coming out from some members should be well thought of before they are posted. We earn respect, not ask for it. Because as soon as you have asked for it, it is lost. And these sorts of remarks do nothing but lower the way others think of us. On a place like a public forum, our posts are the only things that speak. No facial reactions, no dress, no shyness, nothing can be seen. So be very careful in what you say and how you say it. And always think about the implications and the hidden messages it may send. My intentions are not to disappoint.
