But as for your question, it depends on who you ask. I mean, I have Pashtun friends/relatives who beleive that the reason Pashtuns are going through the current turmoil is because we're not following Islam properly, so we deserve it. Right ... as if the PK army and the Taliban are any more better Muslims than the ones who are suffering in their hands.

Christian extremists said the same in response to Hurricane Katrina: The people didn't follow God's command.

I'm not sure who people try to fool when they talk about who deserves what; I'm also not sure what makes them think that THEY are any better Muslims/humans than the people who just experienced "the wrath of God."

So, yeah ... one answer could be, they must be doing something wrong and God is punishing them. But I don't agree. I think all peoples (religions, religious groups, political groups, ethnicities/races, nations, empires, etc.) have their zenith of success and all their demise. Who knows when, why, how, and what each will reach? It's futile deciding ourselves.

I love how Pak army does the nasty with the poor inhabitants of Swat and Waziristan. Ruined their cities took them back to the flintstones Eras,especially Swat. Then they say we got you electricity now be quiet.
