Because they reflect back the opposite of what is really there. What you see in a mirror is not the same as how someone else sees you.

all that the mirror does is give you the exact reflection of what you put in front of it.
what some one else does is their problem and they should be held responsible for it. what the mirror does is the mirror's responsibility. so why the accusation?

Well, no matter how exact the reflection may be, it's always going to be a reflection, and not the real thing. A photograph though, now that is genuine.

Fair enough... It is noteworthy that mirrors only show us what we want to see, and not what may actually be the truth.

No mirror can provide a 100% accurate reflection. Depending on the mirror, the person (or object) may appear fatter, thinner, prettier, uglier, taller, shorter, maybe even smarter, or dumber, but never exactly what it is. And if it cannot provide a 100% accurate reflection, then it is a liar.

Mirrors dont lie, thanks to mirror i am able to see myself fully. Over-rated philosphers and poets have defamed good and useful thing like mirror.
