Mr. Qanuni and Mr. Atta were negotiating with Mr. Sayyaf for weeks. Mr. Atta even offered him a good position in the government somewhere among the islamic scholars. Mr. Atta treatened him either to join Mr. Abdullah or stay neutral knowing that eastlest supporters of Mr. Ismail Khan will support Mr. Abdullah. Mr. Sayyaf was originally used by us to devide the northern Mujaheddin and to weaken Mr. Abdullah but we failed specially in Herat. At least we could take over 12% of Mr. Abdullah´s vote. However, islamic tanzims always join eachother, specially all those northern tanzims. Mr. Sayyaf already joined Mr. Abdullah but he said he will back him officially. Mr. Khan should take the step for him.
