just learnt basics of hindi for shopping and for doing business, selling portraits and paintings. pretty bad really, when i think back on it. the indians love to practice english. they even ask to chat so they can practice it for working in call centres. i'm a chatty old thing so i always sit and have a rave. really nice people i have met there.
i agree about you indonesians and malaysians. my friends are in sabah, borneo. am planning to visit them again, sometime. the orangutan are there too. i saw them last time. amazing to see them in their jungle.
