It would be nice if it were possible to get together a small group of people with an advanced political interest, so as to support a valuable discussion and give-and-take of ideas. For example, how to assess the Loya Jirga just convened by Karzai to strengthen his hand in negotiations with the Americans over long-term arrangements?

I was jut wondering about the origins of what the Americans call "the Haqqani network". I think it weas originally affiliated with the Yunus Khales faction of Hesbi Islami. Do you know anything about who their ENEMIES within the Jadran tribe might have been, originally? Is there anybody in the forum who might know something about that?
