i also find those deep sea creatures fascinating, very surreal. we got a couple of jellyfish in this area, at certain months of the year, that can kill ya. box jellyfish and irikanji. one has to wear a full body suit, swim in netted pools or not swim at all, in the ocean at that time. i have swam with the manta rays in western australia. 2 of them.
plenty of smaller ones around here. some with blue spots. really cute, eagle rays etc. one has to be careful when walking in the water as they shoot out in front of you to get away. they hide under the sand with just their eyes peeping out.
