It took me a couple of days to dig this one out and perhaps you've already seen it. (It would be great to go back and index some of the posts for an easy search). However, take a look at this thread: http://www.pashtunforums.com/pashto-...56/index2.html
There is an exploration of the different forms of ya/ye ی / ے used in Pashto.
Like I say, I tend to use ی as my narina ye. I use the BBC and other electronic sources (often originating from Afghanistan where Pashto writing is stronger and arguably at the current time more developed) to help me with my imla.
Also try this link: Downloads It will allow you to download a phonetic keyboard – this one reconfigures your keyboard so that Alif is A, Bey is B, Tey is T etc. and your preferred ے appears.
