benthams version of utilitarianism doesnt have a clear cut consesus on what is pleasureable and what isnt......as pleasure is an arbitrary phemonenon.......and no two peoples pleasure will over lap (exaggeration). He also doesnt distinguish between the status of pleasures i.e. higher and lower pleasures.........he considers them on the same level.......however this controversial issue was overcome by JS Mill.......
