The docufilm idea sounds grand. You know that it took Teri McLuhan 22 years to make Torch For Peace: Frontier Gandhi.
I met her last year at the world premiere during the Gulf film festival where the film won an award. During the Q&A session after the film (normal for private screenings) she appeared to take questions. I had lots + when I asked her about whether we could revive Bacha Khan's peace message, she said "we've tried everything else - peace is the only option."
My Mrs wanted to shake her hand so went to congratulate her in person. We learned that her team made the film amidst a hostile military operation in Swat, Bajaur etc. and that they had to shuttle between Afghanistan and India for respite. When the authorities learned of the subject filming inside Pakistan filming was halted.
The point here is, whilst I know very little about film-making, if you have the passion, if not now, then 20 years so be it and with those beautiful mountains, you can tell a thousand stories.
