Pashtuns, despite knowing that their dialects are related, still insist on differences being made between them. They still cling to stories of various descents (which are true based on genetic analysis) instead of just considering everyone Pashtuns which would make things substantially less complicated (i.e. you might be of Arab descent, I might be of Siberian, but the bottom line is we're both Pashtuns).

I don't really know how else to express my opinion. Sure there are some circumstantial things dividing Pashtuns, but we are no less to blame for inventing some of our own.
