I wouldn't say I've had a great political odyssey - I've moved from being a student, when I was drawn to the idea of revolution and an instant fix, to a more questioning approach. I guess that over a number of years I have found it increasingly difficult to see past the corruption of those involved in politics and how it has been used as a tool for ulterior motives.
I'm a great believer in Bacha Khan's ideas and the whole Gandhi-compatible activism/resistance politics. Both were very spiritual men, very human and deeply committed patriots. I'm just more at peace with myself and with my people by operating outside of a conventional political label.
