Have patience. If you accepted Islam for the sake of your salvation, then you have to hang tight. Allah says in the Holy Quran that the only time you can disrespect your parents is when it comes to the Unity of Allah. In other words, you can't substitute Allah for an image of a perfect god that you understand. You have to understand Allah Himself.
